Damien Silvester

Driver Trained Occupational Therapist

Damien Silvester is the principal clinician and director at ATS Rehab. He has over 15 years of experience as a clinician in upper limb rehabilitation.
He is an Accredited Hand Therapist as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) and over the years has been involved in training and mentoring other hand therapists both at a tertiary university level and in a private practise setting.

Damien is passionate about achieving good outcomes post operatively for all of his patients and has a keen interest in injuries of the fingers and hand and a keen interest in fabricating complex splints.

Outside of work Damien is an active person who enjoys mountain biking, surfing and going to the gym. Damien has three young children who he adores.

Amanda MacKillop

Amanda is a senior Occupational Therapist with over 15 years of experience. She is an Accredited Hand Therapist, as awarded by the AHTA, with over ten years of experience in hand therapy. As part of her career, Amanda has spent four years as a Queensland Divisional Representative for the AHTA and has also travelled interstate teaching splinting workshops with Ottobock Australia. 

Amanda is also our principal lymphoedema therapist. She has been a member of the Australiasian Lymphology Association since 2012. She specialises in upper limb and breast cancer related lymphoedema, and has completed additional qualification in this field. She is passionate about the prevention of breast cancer related lymphoedema, and has recently established a breast cancer related lymphoedema service within Icon Cancer Centre Redland and Springfield.  Amanda also has a passion for the management of vascular oedemas, and chronic wound care. 

When she isn’t at work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters and attributes reformer pilates to keeping her sane

ALA Lymphoedema Therapist

Lara graduated from the University of Queensland with a bachelor of Occupational Therapy (First Class Honours) in 2012. She has been working as an Occupational Therapist since then in a variety of public health settings including acute, rehabilitation and community settings before joining the ATS team in 2016.

Lara is an Accredited Hand Therapist as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA), which is a post graduate program in hand specific study.

In addition to this Lara has completed further training and is an accredited lymphoedema therapist through the Australian Lymphoedema Education, Research and Treatment program at Macquarie University and is keen to aid in the management of upper limb, breast and trunk lymphoedema.

In her spare time Lara can usually be found with her two (accident prone) dogs.  

Cherrie Chan

Occupational Therapist

ALA Lymphoedema Therapist

Cherrie graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. After completing her clinical placement in hand therapy, she has developed an interest in this field and joined ATS Rehab shortly after she graduated. She is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association.

She has completed further training and is an accredited lymphoedema therapist through the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and is keen to aid in the management of upper limb, breast and trunk lymphoedema.

Cherrie is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.

 

Sophia Cordukes

Occupational Therapist
Associate Member AHTA

Sophia graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy with Honours from James Cook University in 2022 and is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association.

Sophia has particular interests in preventative health, pain education, return-to-work support, and assisting individuals to return to their valued hobbies and interests following injury.

She has experience across occupational rehabilitation, paediatrics, and mental health, allowing her to work holistically with clients of all ages and backgrounds.

Outside of work, Sophia enjoys bouldering and indoor rock climbing, exploring hiking trails, and spending time with her two dogs. 

Rhys Gallagher

Occupational Therapist
Associate Member AHTA

Rhys is a graduate Occupational Therapist who completed a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy at Australian Catholic University and is an Associate Member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association.

His interest in hand and upper limb rehabilitation began during his very first placement at ATS at the start of his degree. It is fitting that this early spark has come full circle, with Rhys now beginning his career in the same setting that first inspired his interest in hand therapy.

Rhys is motivated to support people with hand and arm conditions to regain function, independence, and confidence in daily activities, work, and recreation. With a strong personal interest in fitness, including weight training, running, rock climbing, and mixed martial arts, he brings a practical and developing understanding of movement demands, load management, and injury prevention into his clinical practice.

As a committed lifelong learner, Rhys actively seeks opportunities for professional development and ongoing learning to continue building his clinical knowledge and skills.

Kynan McInnes

Senior Physiotherapist | APA Member
Vestibular Physiotherapist

Kynan graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours from The University of Queensland and is an associate member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association

Kynan has interests particularly in long term rehabilitation and return to both work and recreational activities for his patients. He also has interests in preventative workplace practices and return to work planning after injury.

Kynan has experience in varieties of musculoskeletal, geriatric, occupational physiotherapy management, hand therapy and vestibular physiotherapy. He is also certified in Dry Needling.

Aside from physiotherapy Kynan is a member of a young adults choir and enjoys regular gym throughout the week as well as the occasional game of squash.

Georgina Kinne

Physiotherapist | APA Member

Georgina graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane and holds post-graduate qualifications in Dry Needling. She is also an associate member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Her key areas of interest include musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and work/sports rehabilitation, with a particular focus on the hypermobility population.

Georgina has experience in both hospital and private practice settings, focusing on musculoskeletal and orthopaedics, Pilates, neurological/vestibular rehabilitation, and women’s health. She is skilled in treating patients under WorkCover and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). With a commitment to evidence-based practice, Georgina delivers personalised and comprehensive care tailored to each individual’s needs.

With a diverse sporting background in badminton, volleyball, rowing, surfing, dancing, tennis, and triathlons, Georgina offers tailored care for athletes and active individuals.
Outside of work, she enjoys training for triathlons, hiking, and expressing her creativity through arts and cooking.

Cianan 'CJ' Ryan

Physiotherapist | APA Member

Cianan (CJ) graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane and is an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

He has experience across a wide range of physiotherapy areas, including musculoskeletal rehabilitation, mobile rehabilitation, acute neurological and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, orthopaedics, and general rehab. CJ has a particular interest in shoulder injuries and takes pride in delivering targeted, evidence-based care to help his patients return to their goals—whether that’s sport, work, or day-to-day activity.

CJ has worked in both private and community settings, supporting a diverse range of clients including those under WorkCover, NDIS, and hospital discharge pathways. He is passionate about functional rehab and takes a personalised, movement-focused approach with every individual.

An avid sports fan, CJ brings his own experience in tennis, basketball, and mixed martial arts into his clinical work, with a strong understanding of the demands faced by athletes and active individuals.

Outside of work, he enjoys watching sport, playing tennis and basketball, and keeping up with the latest in the MMA world.

Marnie Davy

Practice Manager

Marnie has over 30 years experience in allied health as a medical administrator/finance and office coordinator. Marnie is dedicated to ensuring that the patients’ experience at ATS is a warm and friendly environment.

Outside of work, Marnie loves anything outdoors, particularly anything involving water. This could be the reason why she has been called Marine more times than Marnie.

Barbara Dardengo

Barb has always had an interest in anything health!

With an extensive background in hospital pharmacy and operations management, she strives to make both the patients and clinician’s time at ATS Rehab as smooth and as positive as she can. 

In her spare time she enjoys running and loves spending time with a large, chaotic and beautiful family.
